Mummy Edwin

Hello blogger friends! I want to share one of the commissioned cards I made last week. I needed to make three Magnolia card for boys, and it was challenging to find Edwins I *like*. I saw Mummy Edwin and could immediately see him "done up" in my customary layers.

Like the mummy wrap detail on the left? It's a direct rip from the fabulously talented Corry on a post she made at the incredible compilation blog Steel Magnolias. That's where I found the inspiration. Thanks Corry - you are brilliant!

I made this with my customer's young grandson in mind - the "boo!" charm glows in the dark! I used the Cuttlebug dot embossing folder on the polka dot paper (hmm... maybe an odd decision) and dabbed Star Dust Stickles on the raised dots.

The layering was challenging, to say the least! The two layers on his left leg don't look as odd in real life as they do in this photo. Flaws are always amplified in these photos! I barely colored the edges with a light warm gray Prismacolor pencil, just to give a shadowed effect.

Here's the inside panel. I like LOVE the easel style card and prefer to tuck the signature panel behind the easel.

I have three more cards and three days until Halloween. I'll do my best to share the rest! Heck, I might even be able to get in on a few challenges. I've been missing all the challenging fun!

Challenges:

Cheers,
Susan
