Birds In Paradise Altered Altoids Tin

Hello friends!  Over at Alpha Stamps, July is Fruit Paradise Kit month!  The kit is jam-packed with fruity goodness, including gorgeous Prima paper, AS fruity collage sheets, and a super-cool 3x4 tabbed book.  But... BUT... since I've made quite a lot of mini books lately,  I set mine aside and focused on the fantastic Fruit Paradise papers.

I was originally going to use this bird silicone mold with paper clay to make a bird sanctuary (of sorts), but the resident house elf was feeling sassy so the mold has been 'misplaced'.  I have hope it will show up again, but my logical side says "nope".  So, gears were shifted a bit.

I have a love affair with all the cool AS collage sheets.  Since I've been on the design team, I've gone from 0 to 75mph in my collection.  You never know what you'll need, right?  It's best to have 'em on hand, just in case.  Like these hummingbirds.  Look at them!  The colors are gorgeous and it took me all of 2 minutes to cut them out and ink the edges with a brush marker.

Because the hummingbirds face right, I knew the vine would need to be along the right edge, so I picked a design on the fruit paper that would fill in the left side.  For added interest, I coated the cherries with Glossy Accents.

The vine is a combination of one full stem and parts of another to fill in as needed.

The frame was painted a salmon pink color and dry-brushed white.  I finished the  edge around the frame with a tiny strand of fiber from the Sea Fiber Set.  It has a feathery hint about it, don't you think?

You can visit the Alpha Stamps shop to see my supply list HERE.  The hummingbirds are frozen in mid-flight with the help of the ever-useful Adhesive Foam, too.

Thanks for your visit today!  I hope you have a chance to shift your creative gears into overdrive soon!
